NEW YEAR REVOLUTION Nutrition Plan

Now that we have the almost perfect : ) workout plan laid out for us, lets dive into the nutrition aspect of the NEW YEAR REVOLUTION.

Ok, back to topic at hand, here are 3 things we all MUST do for our diets:
1 – Plan
2 – Shop
3 – Prepare
Every single person who loses inches, weight, or drops a few pant sizes does these 3 things with their diet.
First, they plan ahead.
They plan ahead to make sure healthy meals are pre-made.
When you’re at home, write out your meals for the week and the ingredients for those meals. That way you have everything laid out for you and NO excuses.

That’s 2.5 cents per recipe. And these meals aren’t boring or bland, and they don’t require crazy, fancy ingredients.

And that leads us to the next step, the shopping part.
Now that you know what you need for your meals and have the written down for the week, that makes the shopping easy.
Look for the best quality ingredients you can afford. At the grocery store shop the perimeter where all the fresh produce and other single ingredient items are located. Avoid the isles. That’s where all the processed junk is found.
Finally, bring home the ingredients and prepare as many of the meals for the week ahead as you possibly can make.
Wash and cut up fruits and vegetables and place them in the fridge/freezer. Cook/bake/grill and do the same thing. That way throughout the week you can just grab and reheat.
Again, NO MORE excuses that you “don’t have time” to eat healthy.
FYI – Personally, I shop on Saturdays and prepare on Sundays. It only takes me an hour or so for each. Figure out which days work best for you.

**BONUS NUTRITION TIPS**
Bonus Nutrition Tip #1 – Change Your Eating Schedule
If you find that you often “binge snack” at night, try having a bigger late afternoon healthy snack, and then having a later healthy dinner. There’s no magic to not eating after a certain time. I often eat a big healthy dinner and go to sleep within 30 minutes.
That won’t make you fat. Eating a pint of ice cream & bag of chips every night while you watch TV makes you fat.
Bonus Nutrition Tip #2 – Minimize the Junk
Your house doesn’t need to be stocked like the local convenient store.
Keep the MINIMUM, if at all, amount of junk food at home to avoid mutiny and keep the junk out of sight & hard to access. Make healthy foods (giant bowls of fresh fruit and/or veggies) visible. Put ready-to-eat produce in most visible part of the fridge
These tips are all research proven to increase healthy food consumption. And when it’s your time for a cheat meal, you can enjoy it guilt-free.
Eating healthy is simple and easy if you put this plan into action.
