9 eating tips

I’ve been thinking over the last couple days and there is still a few days left in 2011.
You could just as easily start your New Year’s “resolutions” today as you could on January 2nd.
Why put off till next week what you can start TODAY?
New Year’s resolutions(which I DO NOT like) are usually forgotten by the end of January and we go back to our usual bad habits. But lets stop that trend NOW.
So I’m giving you 9 simple eating tips to kickstart your healthy lifestyle TODAY, not a week from now…
1.) Eat until you’re 80% full
Then walk away, no matter if there is healthy food left on your plate.
2.) Eat slower.
Eating slower helps you eat less and gives time for the fullness signal to reach your brain and shut off your appetite before you’ve eaten too much.
3.) Studies have shown that people eat significantly more when they are distracted by TV, movies, games, etc.
DITCH the TV & other distractions and focus on your food.
4.) The bigger the package you eat from the more you will eat.
Repackage your jumbo box into smaller ziploc bags or containers and serve it up in smaller dishes or containers.
5.) Throw away/stop that “super-store” membership(Sam’s, BJ’s, Costco, etc).
Why do you need a 50 gallon drum/bag of anything?
The more you have access to, the MORE you eat.
6.) “De-convenience” tempting foods. Hide or put the tempting foods in a hard to reach area. Better yet, DO NOT bring impulse foods into the house to begin with.
7.) Place healthy foods – fruits, veggies & lean proteins – in the convenient, easy to reach areas of your kitchen and fridge.

8.) Eat before you shop.
Use a list and stick to it when food shopping
9.) At the grocery store, watch out for all the not so healthy supermarket claims and choose ONLY FOODS WITH ONE INGREDIENT.
…it’s that simple.
Don’t put off your put off your fat loss/weight loss/fitness goals until after the New Year. Get a jump start with these 9 simple eating tips and you’ll be well on your way to the body of YOUR dreams.
